GAUGE DISPLAY
UltraGauge displays 6 selectable gauges plus the health and open/closed loop indicator, as shown below. The two top gauges feature a larger text font and are typically assigned to personally interesting or important gauges.
The Health indicator is a heart that beats roughly every second. As long as the heart continues to beat, UltraGauge is functioning normally.
The Open/Closed loop indicator provides a visual indication of the state of the vehicle's fuel mixture control system. Closed loop is the desired and nominal condition, and indicates that the vehicle's Electronic Control Module (ECM) is using the vehicle's Oxygen and other sensors to set the real time fuel mixture.
GAUGE ASSIGNMENT
UltraGauge can display seven separate pages of gauges. Each page can independently be configured to display 4, 6 or 8 gauges. Gauges are displayed by assigning a gauge to a particular zone. Zones are identified by a number 1 through 8. Assigning a gauge to zone "1", places the Gauge in the upper left hand corner, as shown below. Likewise, a gauge assigned to Zone "6", places the gauge in the lower right hand corner. Zones that are unused on a page are ignored, but still may be assigned should you wish to switch between 4, 6 or 8 gauges per page.
During normal operation, to advance to the next page of gauges press and hold the DOWN arrow key for 1 second. UltraGauge will emit a tone when the page advance is recognized. Pressing DOWN on the last enabled page returns the display to page 1.
CONTROLS
UltraGauge has three control keys; UP, DOWN, & MENU/SELECT. These keys are located on the back of UltraGauge, but are used blindly while looking at the display.
It is important to realize that some keys have alternate functions. For example, the DOWN key, if pressed at the main gauge screen, advances to the next page of gauges.
KEY | Function in Menu | Alternate Function |
MENU/SELECT | Used to enter the Menu system. It is also used to indicate a selection. |
None |
UP | Moves the cursor upward and increases the value of an entry | From the main gauge screen, pressing and holding UP for three seconds triggers a Tank Fill Up. |
DOWN | Moves the cursor downward and decreases the value of an entry. |

MENU
At the main gauge page, pressing MENU will enter the Menu system. The Menu system is used to configure and control UltraGauge. It is used to assign gauges, set alarms, enable and disable features, set calibration, adjustment the display and more. For most menu items, the choices are intuitive. However, some require more insight and the user manual should be consulted.
UltraGauge stops gathering gauge data while in the Menu system and as a result, the menu system should only be used when the engine is not running. This is for safety reasons, as the menu should never be used while driving. UltraGauge will normally shut-off when it senses that the ignition is in the off position. However, when the menu system is in use, the automatic shuf-off feature is suspended and UltraGauge will not shut-down. So please always exit the menu system after use.
