The UltraGauge wired and wireless versions are very similar in their capabilities and features.  The table below provides some differences to consider.

Power	UltraGauge wired is very low power while in use and enters an ultra-low power mode when the ignition is switched off. UltraGauge wired may remain connected without concern for potential battery drain.	Just as UltraGauge wired, the UltraGauge Blue Adapter uses an insignifcant amount of power and is not a concern with regard to battery drain. The mobile device should be connected to a USB power adapter.
Updates	In the unlikely event that an update is required, it must be returned to the factory to receive updates.	Both the mobile App and the UltraGauge Blue OBDII adapter can be customer updated.  As a result new features and enhancements are very common and more frequent. UltraGauge Blue updates, both minor and major, are free for the life of the product
Capabilities	Low cost and efficient, UltraGauge wired is focused on simplicity, with a bright monochrome display which displays gauges in digital text format.	Nearly unbounded future capabilities. Beautiful color, high-resolution displays, allow digital & analog gauges, graphing, icons, advanced graphics and full graphical customization of each gauge. Mobile and Wifi connectivity also allow UltraGauge Blue to receive updates and real-time information
Gauges	Display 4, 6 or 8 gauges per page	Display 1-10 gauges per page. Gauges can be any combination of digital, analog, graphs, or Alert icons

Choosing between UltraGauge Wired and UltraGauge Wireless is very analogous to choosing a dedicated Vehicle GPS Navigation device versus using a Navigation app for a mobile device.

UltraGauge™ is an automotive information center and OBDII scan tool. UltraGauge can be used to monitor various engine parameters, such as coolant temperature, Oxygen sensor voltage,intake manifold pressure, RPM, Intake manifold incoming air temperature, boost pressure, ambient air temperature, etc.  UltraGauge also provides fuel usage gauges, such as average MPG, instantaneous MPG, Distance to Empty, Fuel tank level, Time to empty, etc. UltraGauge can also act as a trouble code scanner (code reader).  UltraGauge can clear trouble codes and turn off the check engine light.
