FAKE ULTRAGAUGE
There are fake UltraGauge being sold through various sites. Typically such sites are outside the USA. We have also seen fakes on ebay and Amazon. While they appear to be UltraGauge they are functionally poor copies. We have seen a large increase in the number of support tickets from customers complaining that these fakes do not work in their vehicles. Unfortunately for these customers the only answer is to return such fake gauges to the source.
IDENTIFYING FAKES
We do not wish to provide feedback to those Chinese sources that have produced fake UltraGauge. As a result, we can not provide a means to identify the fakes. However, UltraGauge is only sold through our site. If you see an UltraGauge being offered on another site, they are 100% fakes. Exceptions are Precise Auto in Australia and the OBDII shop in Germany, If you suspect you have a fake, you can email Support a picture(s) and we can confirm.
FIRE HAZARD
A genuine UltraGauge has means to prevent fire should the gauge become physically damaged. Chinese fakes do not have such protection and we highly recommend that they not be used and returned to the source.
